Uluru is a really fascinating place. It’s one of only 25 places globally to be World Heritage Listed for both Natural and Cultural resources. In addition to this there is a myriad of things to learn about local Indigenous culture, interesting plants and endemic animals.

Uluru Audio Guide allows you to explore the region at your own pace, yet not miss out. Uluru Audio Guide is essential for any self-drive traveller wanting to learn about our region.

When & where can I pick up Uluru Audio Guide?

Uluru Audio Guide is available as a downloadable app or as a physical hire device.

The app is available from the Apple Store and the Google Play Store.

If you want to hire a physical device we are based in the Tourist Information Centre within the Ayers Rock Resort, town centre, Yulara.

It’s an easy 5 minute walk from Desert Gardens or Sails in the Desert. From the Campgrounds or Outback Pioneer Hotel it’ll take you about 10-15 minutes to walk.  Alternatively you can drive, there is plenty of parking behind IGA.

When you pop into the Tourist Information Centre, we share our booth with Uluru Segway Tours. Look for our signs. When you arrive we can give you your device and help get you set up.

How long will it take to pick up my device?

If you’ve booked in advance, allow about 10minutes for us to give you a quick run through on how Uluru Audio Guide works. Once you’ve got the gist of it, you’ll be off and away!

Do I need to book in advance?

Bookings are not essential, in saying that we have a limited amount of devices. It can be a good idea to book in advance to avoid missing out, especially if you are travelling during school holidays or in the our peak season (June-August).

There are two of us, can we share a device?

For the best listening experience we recommend getting one device per person.
To listen to your device you can use any headphones with a 3.5mm round input. The devices can be played out loud in your car stereo using an auxiliary cord or FM radio tuner, which we can supply when you hire your device.

How does it work?

The Uluru Audio Guide is a simple device that has one core function; to provide you with a rich, interactive, self-guided tour experience. Once you’ve hired the audio guide all that you need to do is simply turn it on, select your language and follow the prompts.

The Uluru Audio Guide uses GPS technology and can be enjoyed in or while walking on one of the many walks in the National Park.

Don’t forget to charge the device overnight so it has a full battery the next morning.
